Approaches - Methods for knowledge (co)production in architectural research and practice

The ResArc PhD course Approaches: Methods for knowledge (co)production in architectural research and practice will be devoted to an introduction and to training in research skills. The focus will be put on the research methodologies characteristic for the fields of Architecture and Design with emphasis on the use of transdisciplinary approach to knowledge production.


The two first modules (5 hec), will address various approaches to knowledge (co)production for conscious research design. The third module (2,5 hec) addresses PhD students interested in critical analysis of the methodology used by them or their colleagues.


Module 1: Modes of Knowledge Production and research strategies (March 25, 26, 27)


Module 2: Research Design for knowledge (co)production (April 27, 28, 29)


Module 3: Assessing Research Strategies - Reviewing a Doctoral Thesis (June 1, 2, 3)


The course takes place at School of Architecture, Chalmers University of Technology. Course leader is Krystyna Pietrzyk (Krystyna.Pietrzyk [at] chalmers.se) and deadline for registration is Monday the 23th of February 2015.
